Travel Photography

“Travel changes you. As you move through this life and this world you change things slightly, you leave marks behind, however small. And in return, life — and travel — leaves marks on you.”

—Anthony Bourdain

In late 2015, I packed one suitcase, one backpack, and one camera bag, and left U.S. shores for an indeterminate time away from the life I’d built over the course of more than four decades. I’d left my dream job, my marriage, my house, and felt like I needed to go away and do something that would challenge the creature comforts of my life and maybe provide some sort of perspective that was missing.

I forgot to come back for almost three years.

I lived first in Saigon and then Bangkok while traveling to and experiencing life in 20 countries. Along the way I spent a lot of time teaching myself photography and capturing scenes and characters around Asia Pacific, South Asia, and the Middle East. Maybe someday there will be a book. Until then, these photographs will suffice as memories of the adventure of a lifetime.
