Thailand

After four months living in Saigon, I moved to Bangkok and ended up staying there for the next two and a half years. I used it as a hub to travel across Southeast Asia and beyond (Kolkata, India, was a two-hour flight… Sydney, Australia, was only ten hours). I realized after I came home to the U.S. that I actually didn’t spend enough time traveling throughout Thailand itself. I certainly took advantage of living near prime diving sites in the islands. But otherwise, I did what a lot of us do, which is take the place where we spend our day-to-day lives somewhat for granted. But I loved my time in Bangkok, and the deep friendships I forged in the fire of nearly three years as an expat.
